Rare animation sketch douga from the Pokemon anime! This is from the first season of the Pokemon anime when it was still being made with cel animation. This is a douga (animator's sketch) that would have been used to make a painted anime cel. This hand drawn sketch is a partial of just Charmeleon's head labeled what looks like B15. The full shot would have depicted Charmeleon laying on it's side and yawning while ignoring one of Ash's commands. The mark near the end of the sequence number indicated that this was likely a correction for the full cel which is why it's just the head and not the entire Charmeleon. This has some light paint transfer across the surface likely from when it was stored with the cel otherwise it has some light wear and wrinkling in keeping with the production process but is otherwise in good shape. Animation cels and other production artwork from the Pokemon anime are hard to find and usually prohibitively expensive, because this is just a partial (though easily recognizable as Charmeleon) we're offering this sketch as a much more affordable price. This is a great affordable way to get a wonderful piece of anime and video game history.
